Genmaicha is a Japanese speciality meaning brown rice tea. Rich Sencha green tea is carefully blended with roasted brown rice. The fresh grassy flavour of the green Sencha meshes beautifully with the aroma of the rice to give a toasty, moreish flavour. It is often referred to as popcorn tea because some of the rice can pop during the roasting process resembling popcorn.
