4 tips to help you pack away those eye bags

Chillaxin' Chamomile

Have you ever given yourself a fright when you’ve looked in the mirror in the morning and seen massive bags under your eyes? You may benefit from our tips to help pack away eye bags. The cause of these dark circles could have a number of different causes including the fact you might no longer be quite the spring chicken you once were (the tissues surrounding the eyes weaken with age). Other common causes are fluid retention, lack of sleep, burning the candle at both ends, allergies or you could blame it on your parents. Apparently sleeping on your front or without a pillow also helps boost those bags (sorry that’s not one I’m willing to test).

Are you doomed to have saggy eyes forever more or is there anything you can do about it?

As it’s a Feel Good Friday, I thought I’d share my top 4 tips that you could try to pack away those unsightly eye bags:

  1. You could try some supplements (most practitioners seem to recommend either vitamin C or a multivitamin). I’m not a doctor though so use your own judgement.
  2. Others swear by apple cider vinegar to help reduce eye bags? Try putting a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar into half a cup of water and gently rub it onto the skin under your eyes. Just don’t get it in your eyes.
  3. Next up is Coconut Oil – seriously, is there anything this stuff can’t do? Allegedly it can help increase the tightness among skin cells and is a good natural moisturiser for the eyes. Try massaging a little oil underneath your eyes before you go to bed. Just remember to wash your face in the morning!
  4. And finally, the thing that does seem to work for me…. TEA BAGS. Pop some frozen USED tea bags on your closed, baggy eyes for 10-15 minutes to help reduce the baggage. My favourite are Chillaxin’ Chamomile, Blooming Marvellous and good old Breakfast Blend (black tea). When you’re done with them you can always put them on the radiator and call it art… if it’s good enough for the Serpentine Sackler Gallery….
