3. The Modern Maori Quartet – Assembly George Square Studios, £14

I am guilty of many things and one of them is always hunting for New Zealand performers (I’m a Kiwi). The Modern Maori Quartet are like nothing you have seen before (unless you have seen them). They will have you in stitches; maybe tears. But one thing is for sure you will leave with a new appreciation of Maori musical talent. “With signature style and humour, Two Worlds weaves together four stories that unfold the fabric of Maori musical culture. Layering a uniquely Kiwi narrative to their soaring harmonies and classic quirky charm, the award-winning Modern Maori Quartet invite you to experience their take on what it really means to be Maori in this day and age.” – Edinburgh Fringe

August 5 – 12 / 14 – 27 2.25pm – this show is one hour and nearly sold out so get in quick! Assembly George Square Studios

4. Vertical Influences – Murryfield Ice Rink, £17.50

This is a performance with a difference. Canadian ice skaters Vertical Influences are back in Edinburgh to wow with their swift moves! A dazzling ice display sure to be one that you will not forget!

5. Katherine Ryan – The Playhouse, £20.40 – £25.40

It is a great year for Canada at The Fringe. Famous comedian Katherine Ryan is set to make you laugh until you cry this year. With a special performance at The Playhouse on Leith Walk she is not to be missed. “What does Canada’s first woman to have a worldwide Netflix special have in common with Britain’s first woman to have a worldwide Netflix special? They are both single mothers with too many pets. And they are both Katherine Ryan.” – Comedy.com
