The TEA mindset by Pinky
How many times have you been to your friend’s house and she says ‘here, have a cuppa it will make it all better.’ In our family, a proper brew solves all of your problems, no matter what you are going through. Drinking tea has been a daily ritual in our family since I can remember. The kettle was on every few hours in our house and you would hear someone shout ‘anyone for a cuppa?’ And we would all sit together and chat.
My grandma used to slurp tea from the saucer and dunk rich tea biscuits in her tea. She was one of the strongest women I knew. 9 kids and 2 stillborn, you can’t underestimate what she went through 90 years ago. She was an amazing lady. If you are a biscuit dunker like my grandma and now my dad and my son, I don’t get it! Bits of biscuit floating in my tea doesn’t do it for me, it might for you.
If you are not from the UK, you probably have no idea what I am talking about, it’s because drinking tea is so British. It’s a culture and it’s like therapy. My clients who are in the UK will understand that drinking tea brings people together, we talk, laugh and cry and it’s even better with a slice of cake.
Ever since I was a teenager I have enjoyed my Morning Mindset TEA
You can imagine my delight when I met Erica, the founder of eteaket.
We met at a networking event and we got chatting, shortly after that, she became my client. I am so proud of how far she has come, what an amazing transformation. Her confidence has grown, her fear of success has gone, her money mindset blocks have vanished and her business is booming! The whole team at eteaket have benefited from her positive mindset. I love her to bits, she is an inspiring lady.
My TEA mindset
My TEA mindset came about because of my morning practice. This is what my acronym means to me:
Thoughts
Emotions
Action
Every morning at 6am, before everyone wakes up, I go and put the kettle on and make myself a cuppa. Usually Breakfast Blend tea from eteaket of course!
I sit in silence, focus on my breathing and THINK of my intention for the day. This is my meditation practice, it’s so simple and effective and you can implement it easily into your daily life. I close my eyes and visualise my day as I want it to unfold and I think of my ultimate dream as if it has already happened. This is a very powerful technique which has become a daily habit for me. When you change your thoughts from negative to positive and you quieten down your inner critic, amazing things start to happen.
Your day feels like it’s already started in the best possible way and that’s when you connect to your EMOTIONS in your quiet time. Those good feelings of joy and kindness and love. Take your imagination to a peaceful, happy place which you can bring back in an instant when you rewire your brain to do this daily. It’s the small things that bring balance and joy into our lives.
And finally your ACTION, what are you going to do to today to make it happen? To make it the best day. I always think of it as imagining that it’s the last day of your life, ask yourself
‘Would you be doing what you are doing today if it was the last day of your life?’
If the answer is ‘No’ then you need to change your mindset.
When you change your mindset, you will change your life.
