Envelop your senses in the brownish, dark, medium to coarse leaves of Chinese Pu’Erh Beeng Cha. The flat-round pressed form showcases the expertise invested and tradition in crafting each tea cake, ensuring a rich and genuine tea experience. Chinese Pu’Erh Beeng Cha is a testament to its roots – surrounded by original villages deep in the mountains of Yunnan. The tea material, aged for a minimum of 1 year, undergoes a meticulous process of pressing under pressure and steam to attain its classic form. The tea bushes, boasting an average age of 30 years, contribute to the tea’s unique and mature flavour profile. The liquor produces an elegant wine-red infusion, shining with a partly darker sliding hue.
This is a ‘cooked’ Pu’erh, known as Shu – Shu Pu’erh undergoes a controlled fermentation process, giving it a dark colour and smooth taste. In contrast, Sheng Pu’erh, or raw Pu’erh, is made from the same leaves but is allowed to ferment naturally over time, resulting in a lighter colour and a more complex, evolving flavour.
