Fresh from the Jungpana Tea Estate, the First Flush Darjeeling Jungpana 2023 is amongst the first tea produced of the year as we enter the tea growing season. A South facing garden nestled high near the town of Darjeeling the altitude of this estate ranges between 3,000 and 4,500ft, non-accessible by road visitors and the tea itself need to traverse the 298 steep steps through lush dense forest.

The initial gathering of First Flush teas marks the earliest yield of the year, where youthful and delicate plants yield exquisite and aromatic teas brimming with the accumulated nutrients and goodness acquired during the dormant winter period. The final tea distinctly reflects the leaf’s freshness, as the vibrant green sprouts shine through.

This particular tea showcases a generous-sized leaf that boasts a light green hue, accompanied by a delicate silver tip. When brewed, the resulting liquor exhibits a radiant yellow colour, offering a refreshing and vibrant appearance. In terms of taste, this tea imparts a gentle vegetal flavour, evoking a subtle essence of fresh greens.

Unlike more robust black teas we recommend a cooler brew for all First Flush Darjeeling teas… Use freshly drawn boiled water that has cooled for 2 minutes and brew for 3-5 minutes, depending on personal taste.
