Lapsang Souchong – Smoky & Flavourful.

Our Lapsang Souchong tea boasts a unique and captivating wood-smoke flavour profile, distinct among traditional Chinese teas. This robust, smoky character is achieved through a meticulous process that honours ancient methods and traditions. First, the tea leaves are gently withered, allowing them to soften and absorb the aroma of the air around them. This step is carried out over carefully selected, fragrant Chinese woods that impart a deep, natural smokiness.

Once withered, the tea undergoes an additional drying stage, in which the leaves are placed in woven bamboo baskets and suspended over smouldering pinewood fires. This precise technique not only dries the tea but also infuses each leaf with a rich, smoky essence, evoking the warmth of open flames and the crisp, earthy scent of pine forests. The result is a tea with a bold, smoky depth that lingers beautifully on the palate, a true taste experience for those who appreciate tea with a remarkable character.
