Our Dragon Tea Pet is a handmade clay figurine designed as a companion to your personal tea ceremony. A tea pet, also known as tea friend, is a traditional small clay figure used in tea drinking throughout East Asia, they are said to bring good fortune and luck!
Tea pets are usually placed on the tea tray and are ‘fed’ tea as part of a more traditional brewing experience. Tea pet’s are usually clay and unglazed meaning the figurine will change colour and smell like your fav tea over time and become more personal to you as you as you share tea together.
Our delightful tea pet is made in China and modelled after a Chinese Dragon; an emblem of the energy of Yin and a symbol of happiness
feed your tea pet:
- the warm water you used to warm up your tea vessel such as a gaiwan prior to brewing
- the rinse from the tea leaves first steep
- left over brewed tea
The Dragon measures 125 x 80 x 50 mm. If cleaning is required use only a damp cloth.
