Spring has officially sprung and so has our most special collaboration with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh… introducing our two small batch tea blends!

There’s a vibrant Sencha green tea from Kagoshima in Japan and a rare Nepalese white tea from Jun Chiyabari garden both of which have been hand blended with floral botanicals grown by a small group of dedicated volunteers within the physic garden at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. These curative flowers have been hand-picked and prepared from amongst the many medicinal herbs being nurtured, organically, as part of the Herbology programmes at RBGE. There really are unique teas that offer a restorative and comforting infusion.

The botanicals in each blend include delicate, blue aromatic Nigella flowers, jewel-like wild pansies (Heartsease) and potent golden-yellow Marigold flowers. The tea bases are complimented by the addition of calming Chamomile flowers, sweet Cornflowers and soothing Rose Petals.

Erica Moore, founder of eteaket said, “It has been a privilege to work with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and especially Catherine Conway-Payne of the Herbology Physic Garden. These blends have been a long time in the making but the result is definitely worth it. The Garden has such a rich history with the tea plant and with Nepal so it was fitting to include this special Himalayan white tea in this project.”

The launch of the two unique blends were marked with a special event held at the RBGE Physic Garden. Friends of RBGE and the team involved in the growing alongside Erica sampled the the new blends and were treated to a series of captivating presentations on the botanicals and tea cultivation that left us all informed and inspired by the work they do. As well as trying their hand at tea formulation.
