Shop local this festive season…
Isn’t it lovely owning something that is unique and one of a kind. Something not every other person walking down the street has. When you shop small and independent you are purchasing unique products. This Christmas why not buy gifts directly from the source, gifts that tell a story and mean so much more. Our gift guide this year is all about small independent businesses who would benefit hugely from your purchases even if you only purchase a card.
eteaket Tea Store – 111 Rose Street
What more could anyone want for Christmas? Tea,teapots, cups, chocolate, candles…we have everything you need to give the perfect gift. Treat a special person to one of our Limited Edition Christmas Blends like Lets Mull it Over or put together a unique sample chest with five 10g samples of our loose leaf tea. The possibilities are endless!
We also cannot forget our Tea Room (41 Frederick Street). Gift your special someone the chance to unwind, relax and press pause on the noise we all experience from the outside world. Our Tea Room allows you a special moment to pause over a cup of tea (while enjoying a slice of cake). Our Afternoon Tea vouchers make for the ultimate Christmas gift.
67 Rose Street
67 Rose Street is the result of a collaboration between three artists. Diedododa, The Edinburgh Bow Tie Company and Etch`d are all located in the cute yellow gift shop opposite Primark on Rose Street. You can find all sorts of gifts, unique pictures of Edinburgh, wooden (engraved) phone cases and of course funky Bow Ties! We are really loving their bright yellow door which always brightens up our day!
The Treasure Trove
This shop showcases the talent of local makers. The shops helps people with limited means to help themselves and giving them a place to sell their wears. We really love their knitted teddy bares or unequally Scottish outfits. Everything is made with such love and attention. Pop in and take a look around. You are sure to find a lovely gift that someone will really appreciate.
Palenque
Palenque is an independently owned jewelry shop. They have three locations, one of Rose Street, one on the Royal Mile and one in York. The pieces are well thought out and unique. We really like their Foresta Pine Cone Pendant .
element
Lets face it, after all that shopping you are going to need to put your feet up and relax. Why not stop into element for a Christmas cocktail and a tasty bite to eat. Element serve fresh, Scottish cuisine and have a lovely range of drinks.
