A Distinctive Malawian Breakfast Tea

Discover Satemwa Malawi BOP, a robust yet wonderfully smooth black tea from the Satemwa Tea Estate in the lush Shire Highlands of Malawi.

This distinctive Malawian black tea is crafted from a blend of tea varieties, with carefully processed leaves that retain their delicate silvery tips. The result is a beautifully balanced tea with a bright red liquor, rounded sweetness & plenty of character.

Originally introduced by eteaket to celebrate International Women's Day, this is a tea with a story worth sharing.

What Does Satemwa Malawi BOP Taste Like?

Expect a rich, bright black tea with a naturally sweet, rounded flavour & distinctive olive notes.

Robust enough to enjoy as a satisfying breakfast tea, yet smooth enough to drink black, Satemwa offers a delicious alternative to a traditional Breakfast Blend.

Enjoy it on its own to appreciate its unique flavour, or add a splash of milk & sugar for a more traditional cuppa.

Satemwa Tea Estate: Championing Women in Tea

Satemwa Tea Estate is situated in the Shire Highlands of Malawi, where tea cultivation is closely connected to the surrounding communities.

Beyond producing distinctive speciality teas, Satemwa has developed initiatives focused on gender equality, women's welfare & improving opportunities for tea workers.

The estate was among the first in Malawi to employ women and has worked to increase female representation across different roles, from tea plucking & field supervision to skilled trades & factory management.

Its Women's Welfare Committee supports awareness of gender equality, harassment & discrimination, while facilities such as nurseries & breastfeeding rooms are designed to support working mothers.

Through its commitment to tea quality & community development, Satemwa demonstrates how a tea estate can contribute to opportunities beyond the tea garden.

A brilliant Malawian black tea with distinctive flavour & a story worth knowing.
