Japan chose eteaket Tea

eteaket are excited to announce that, alongside Scottish Development International and the world famous Japanese Hankyu Department Stores, eteaket will be attending the British Fair 2012 in Japan. The event will take place in Hakata Store (Fukuoka) and Umeda Store (Osaka) where pop up eteaket tea rooms will be created. Open from 31 October to 13 November, the tea rooms are expected to serve more than 900 classic cream teas a day along with some of eteaket’s award winning leaf teas.

We are delighted to have been selected out of all the tea rooms in Scotland to represent the nation. The eteaket tea rooms will be serving our famous eteaket Cream Teas; two fabulous scones with jam and clotted cream and a pot of our rather special Scottish Breakfast tea.

Our very own Sarah, eteaket’s general manager, will be travelling to Japan to oversee the running of the tea rooms: “I am looking forward to representing both Scotland and eteaket at this fantastic event and it’s a great opportunity to introduce Japan to our leaf teas”.

This annual British fair that attracts up to one million visitors each year has a Scottish theme this year. Previous luminaries representing the “Best of British” have included Claridges, Harrods, Cath Kidston and Burberry.
Lucky Japanese shoppers will also be able to buy eteaket’s leaf tea to take home in bespoke tea caddies, including eteaket’s very own Edinburgh Blend black tea.
