Oriental Beauty tea is a premium Taiwanese oolong tea celebrated for its natural sweetness, complexity, and smooth, refined character. Also known as Dong Fang Mei Ren (東方美人), meaning “Eastern Beauty,” it is one of Taiwan’s most distinctive and historically prized teas.

Unlike most oolongs, Oriental Beauty is harvested later in the season, typically around one month after standard oolong picking. This later harvest, combined with the unique “bug-bitten” process where leafhoppers naturally interact with the tea leaves, triggers a higher level of oxidation and develops its signature honeyed sweetness and aromatic depth.

The result is a beautifully oxidised tea with exceptional balance and layered flavour. Expect notes of honey, ripe stone fruit, floral nectar, and soft muscatel sweetness, alongside a silky, lingering finish. The aroma is rich and naturally complex, reflecting both the extended maturation on the plant and traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship.
