Matcha meets Kombu to create Celtic Kombu Matcha!
We could not be more excited to announce the launch of our extraordinary collaboration with Mara Seaweed. We have combined our high grade Ceremonial Matcha with Kombu – welcome Celtic Kombu Matcha!
So what is Kombu? Let us tell you!
Kombu (also known as kelp) is a type of seaweed. Once the food of Emperors in Japan, Kombu is considered to have a high nutrient and mineral content. Tests show that it is high in magnesium, potassium, manganese and zinc. As well as this, Kombu is also a source of protein which is great news for vegans and vegetarians. Our amazing Kombu is sustainable and wild-harvested from the deep sea around Scotland!
A reminder of what is Mighty about our Matcha…
Matcha is stone-ground green tea leaf. The resulting powdered tea became part of a ritual by Zen Buddhists, documented as early as the 12th century. It is apparently naturally high in flavonoids! Also, the catechins found in Matcha have reportedly been shown to have a positive effect on the body. Matcha gives drinkers a steady release of energy thanks to the L-theanine amino acid it contains.
P.s. Did you know that absolutely all of our tea retail packaging (including our teabags and loose leaf inserts) are completely plastic-free? So why not check out our blog here for some more in-depth information on a cause which is deeply important to us here at eteaket…
