We could not be more excited to announce the launch of our extraordinary collaboration with Mara Seaweed.  We have combined our high grade ceremonial Mighty Matcha with Kombu – welcome Celtic Kombu Matcha!

So what is Kombu? Let us tell you!

Kombu (also known as kelp) is a type of seaweed. Once the food of Emperors in Japan, Kombu is considered to have a high nutrient and mineral content.  Tests show that it is high in magnesium, potassium, manganese and zinc.  As well as this, Kombu is also a source of protein which is great news for vegans and vegetarians.  Our amazing Kombu is sustainable and wild-harvested from the deep sea around Scotland!

A reminder of what is Mighty about our Matcha…

Matcha is stone-ground green tea leaf.  The resulting powdered tea became part of a ritual by Zen Buddhists, documented as early as the 12th century.  It is apparently naturally high in flavonoids!  Also, the catechins found in Matcha have reportedly been shown to have a positive effect on the body.  Matcha gives drinkers a steady release of energy thanks to the L-theanine amino acid it contains.

HOW WE LIKE IT
You can enjoy it ‘Straight Up’ with hot water, as a tea latte or a ‘Superfood Shake’.  Each purchase of Celtic Kombu Matcha comes with a guide which includes recipe ideas – it’s time to nourish your body and soul.

To make: Put 1/2 tsp of Celtic Kombu Matcha powder into the bowl. Mix with a few drops of cold water to form a paste then add 30ml of 80 degree water into the bowl then lightly whisk in a W shape until frothy. Pour in some further 80 degrees water to enjoy it straight up or just your steamed milk for a latte! Add more Celtic Kombu Matcha or a squeeze of honey to taste.
